too long between updates!

Hi...I know. It's been almost 2 (!!) months since I last updated the blog. The last few months have been busy. Between Easter, Mother's Day, work, Rob's work (and travels) the time has just flown! Brian is growing so fast. Hard to believe that he'll be 2 in about 6 weeks!!! BUT, he has already hit the terrible 2's. And, from what I've heard, 3's are worse than 2's. UGH! He's talking alot and learns new words every day. He's having the best time being home all day with Mommy. Though he thinks that since Mommy is home Daddy should be too. Daddy has a couple of trips coming up too. I get to go along on one of them. One of the properties is at Newport Beach, Ca. (along the coast in Orange County) so I am going with him. The company does not mind and since he has to be there on a Monday, we are leaving on a Friday night and make a weekend of it. Brian gets to spend a few days with Nana and Papa, which he will love!! Rob also has to go to Orlando for a conference, but we are staying home for that. We had talked earlier about having Brian stay with Nana and Papa and Brenden and I fly down mid week, but I wanted to go somewhere new, so we decided to not go. (I'm flying on frequent flyer reward tickets. Since Rob has racked up points for 2 and will have enough points after Orlando for yet another!) While Rob is gone, Brian and I are going to walk in the St. Louis Susan G. Komen Race/Walk for the Cure. Hope he can stay in the stroller the entire time!
Here are some recent photos of Brian...

afternoon at the park...part 2

Here are the rest!!!

An Afternoon at the park...part 1

Brian and I decided to take advantage of the spring weather this afternoon at the park. I was off for a dr. appt. for my wrist and as soon as I knew he was up from naptime I went to daycare and picked him up. We spent about 45 min. playing on the slide and running around. We tried the swings out, but didn't care for them. Probably because it meant he had to sit down!!

mmmm...good Moma!!

The weekends when Brenden is over I usually cook breakfast. (Rob doesn't always care or is up as early as Brian and I) Brenden asked if I would make biscuits and gravy (his favorite!) So I fixed the rare treat. Brian hasn't had milk gravy before and we quickly discovered he did. He licked his plate and then wanted Daddy's and Brenden's. Brenden gave him what he had left on his plate. When he finished he got a bath!!

Brian cooks "been beans"

I forgot to post this back a few weeks ago when this happened and thought you all might like to see what B can get into..(these aren't the greatest photos...but funny story!)

First....he got into "momma's" pots and pans cabinet.. (don't look too closely..it's MESSSYY!) and looked for just the right pan..... (Nana's helping)

next....he grabbed a can of "been beans" from the box we had sitting by the fridge....

then he took the can of "been beans" and set it by the carefully selected pan.

yes....he really did all of this....even down to putting the pan on the stove. (I didn't get a pic of that). Guess I was told that he was hungry!!! :-) This is WHY I don't let him run free when I am working in the kitchen!

Butterfly House part 2 and Faust Park

For some reason Blogger would not let me post all of the pics in one post...so here are the rest. When we finished at the Butterfly House we went to the playground that was right there. Brian had some fun playing on the equipment. We discovered that he is VERY talented in climbing UP the slide the wrong way using no hands!!!!! (Guess he learned that at daycare on their slide in their room!!!)
Have a great week!!!

Butterfly House

Rob's been traveling all week...Tues. he went to Kansas City, MO (came back Wed. eve) then left Thurs. for Oakland, CA. Then Fri. he flew to Chicago and will be there until Mon. (he will be home sometime that afternoon.) I decided to take Brian to the Butterfy House over at Faust Park (Chesterfield, MO) and we asked Nana and Papa to go along. Brian seemed to enjoy it until he got too warm and wanted to get out of there. These are some of the photos I took in the Butterfly House.
